What does the Children's Support Worker involve?

  • Providing the highest quality care to children we support
  • Using a range of communication methods to assist children to make informed day-to-day choices
  • Supporting children to attend school and engage in fun and stimulating lessons
  • Promoting independence by supporting with a range of educational, social and work-based activities
  • Undertaking general housekeeping duties, plus elements of personal care
  • Maintaining accurate record keeping of all activities, progress and incidents should they arise 

 

What do you need to be a Children's Support Worker?

  • Previous care experience preferred but not essential
  • A can-do attitude, resilient and reliable nature
  • Compassion and empathy
  • Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice
  • The ability to work flexibly
