TAKING CARE OF WALES
Our Mission Statement
The Care Forum Wales mission statement was developed in
conjunction with our members and reflects the needs of the industry.
-
To provide high-quality representation to Government and
other relevant agencies on behalf of members and affiliated Associations.
-
To organise and maintain a coherent and proactive strategy,
in order to influence health and social policy in Wales.
-
To ensure that the views of members, affiliated Associations,
their individual members and their clients are properly represented
in all policy debates which may affect the welfare of their existing
and future clients.
-
To assist member Associations to maintain and enhance their
effectiveness by the following means:
-
exchanging, collating and sharing information.
-
enabling their members to diversify into other areas of
care to contribute effectively to the development of high-quality
community care.
-
Promoting common standards and unity of purpose.
-
To promote the free flow of information to enable and empower
individuals to make informed choices about the care available in all
sectors. To ensure that appropriate channels exist to make such information
readily available and easily understandable.
-
To promote high quality training and education for staff
in the care sector, and to provide support to the Member Associations
and their members in making full use of it.
-
To assist members and affiliate organisations to prepare
for the changes that will take place during and after the re-organisation
of Local Government in Wales. To influence the new Authorities to
take proper account of the Independent Sector in preparing their community
care plans.
-
To promote a Welsh Language Policy by producing, on request,
all material published by the Forum in the medium of Welsh
