Description: We aim to provide our service users with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance.

Our staff will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all service users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing, will be sensitive to the Service User's ever-changing needs.

The aim of good quality care must always be to promote a way of life for Service Users that permits them to enjoy, to the greatest possible extent, their rights as individual human beings. Fundamental to our work are the rights of privacy, dignity, independence, security, civil rights, choice and fulfillment.

Service users at our home each have an individual person-centered care plan. This tailored package of care is agreed with the individual and embraces the ethos of personal care.

We have 28 bedrooms, including one suitable for a couple, the majority of which are en-suite. We have two large lounges equipped with the latest flat screen TVs, a large conservatory and two sun lounges.

We are as interested in our service users happiness as we are in their health, as we know that emotional well-being requires some degree of social and recreational activity.

We arrange various group and individual activities inside and outside the home, including musical entertainment, games parties and craft sessions, as well as local trips.

All staff within the home will be appropriately qualified to deliver the highest standards of care.

We are dedicated to providing a cheerful home and quality service for our service users.

Description: Children placed at Afon Goch have previously suffered damaging life experiences and are 'looked after' by children's services. Afon Goch offers an intensive therapeutic programme within a warm and supportive environment.
Up to 3 children are in placement at any one time. We offer each child an individually tailored therapeutic programme of support, supervision, guidance and activities; with the aim of helping them make sense of negative life experiences, learn better ways of coping, and equipping them to face the challenges of adult life.
We help them to overcome the limitations of their past; to experience and embrace choice; and to learn to live in hope.
Typically, children come to us with a cynical and distorted world-view. We show them that ‘it doesn't have to be that way'. During their time with us, each child is supported in learning and appreciating their own value; overriding limiting beliefs; and setting and achieving goals for the future

Description: Purpose-built in 1973 and refurbished in 2000, Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court stands in extensive, well-kept grounds situated one mile from Porthcawl town centre and the Promenade.
Within the grounds there are beautiful inner courtyard gardens made up of a fishpond, scented garden and herb garden for residents to sit in, relax and enjoy the outdoor space. There is also a bowling green and Club House in the grounds where matches are played throughout the season. Residents may participate if they wish.
The Home is divided into six ‘family-style’ house group units, each with their own team of care staff. Each house group has its own comfortable dining room and communal lounge.
