New All Wales guidance has been issued on the reporting and investigation of pressure sores, a painful and debilitating condition that affects up to 20 per cent of acute patients in England and Wales every year. If left untreated pressure sores can cause serious harm and death – yet growing evidence points to the fact that they can largely be avoided.
Care Forum Wales members should make themselves familiar with this guidance on the compulsory reporting of pressure sores and should check on local arrangements for reporting issues to health boards and POVA teams.
