The number of training places for student healthcare professionals is set to increase by 16 per cent over the next year (2015-16) in Wales, the Welsh Government has announced today (February 11).
The government said it would spend £80m to increase the number of trainees to provide “the next generation” of NHS workers.
The funding will pay for nearly 2,500 extra places – including for student nurses, paramedics, occupational therapists, dental hygienists and speech and language therapists.
