HSE proposes changes to risk assessments

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) is proposing changes to the advice it offers about performing risk assessments and has published a revised draft of its guidance.

The HSE wants to see more emphasis on controlling risk and less on written assessments, without reducing standards, and wants to make it very clear to businesses and other organisations that risk assessment should be part of day-to-day business management.

Risk assessments are a big part of the way in which care providers work, so the proposed changes are likely to have an impact on how CFW members manage risk. For the revised guidance, go to the HSE website.
