Senior policy adviser for CFW, Mary Wimbury, has written to members to update them on the North Wales pre-placement agreement.

She said: “As you will be aware work on the pre-placement agreement has been ongoing for some years and I understand the latest version has or is about to be distributed by some local authorities and the health board. 

“Care Forum Wales has also obtained legal advice which we are sharing with our members and is attached (see link below).

We have written to the local authorities and the health board outlining these issues and are waiting for a response. As things stand we cannot advise you to sign the PPA and would advise you to ask for a response to the issues we have raised and any other issues you may have. 

“If you are considering signing we would advise reading the whole PPA carefully and consider taking further advice – if anything remains unclear; and should consider at least making the amendments by hand and initialling them.”
