At Care Forum Wales we work with many organisations in the health and social care sector to improve health and social care provision in Wales. Below is a list of our partner organisations that we regularly work with.

Association of Directors of Social Services (ADSS) Cymru

ADSS is the voice of the professional and strategic leadership of social care services in Wales. ADSS represents the collective view of all twenty-two local authorities social services departments across Wales, and deliver positive outcomes for our communities by informing and influencing legislation, policies and practices in the social care sector.

Age Cymru

Age Cymru is the national charity for older people in Wales and are here when they’re needed the most. Their mission is to improve the lives of older people by delivering trusted advice, support and services. They use their knowledge, insight and experience to influence policies and decisions affecting older people.

Alzheimer’s Society

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.

Boots Care Services

Boots Care Services support care home teams to deliver great care to residents with expert training & advice. They support meetings of the Five Nations Care Group that includes Care Forum Wales.

Care England

Care England, a registered charity, represents adult social care providers in England and members of the Five Nations Care Group.

Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW)

Care Inspectorate Wales registers, inspects and takes action to improve the quality and safety of services for the well-being of the people of Wales. CIW carries out its functions on behalf of Welsh Ministers.

Children’s Commissioner for Wales

Advice and support and protecting the rights of children in Wales.

Community Housing Cymru (CHC)

Community Housing Cymru is the voice of housing associations in Wales, representing 30 not-for-profit housing associations, some of which provide nursing care. CHC is a member of the National Provider Forum (Wales).

Cymorth Cymru

Cymorth Cymru is the representative body for providers of homelessness, housing and support services in Wales, including some Supported Living facilities. They are members of the National Provider Forum (Wales) with Care Forum Wales.

GMB Union

GMB Union is an organising and campaigning union for all workers. GMB are members of the Social Care Workforce Partnership.

Homecare Association

The Homecare Association is the UK’s membership body for homecare providers and works to ensure that homecare is valued so that all of us can live well at home and flourish within our communities. The Homecare Association is a fellow member of the Five Nations Care Group and the National Provider Forum (Wales). We work closely together and share some of our Policy Advisor’s time.

Hospice UK

Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever. Care Forum Wales offers free membership to all hospices in Wales.

Independent Health and Care Providers (ihcp)

ihcp is the recognised body responsible in Northern Ireland for representing private, not-for-profit, charity and church-affiliated organisations providing residential and nursing home care, sheltered housing, day care and care in the home. ihcp is a member of the Five Nations Care Group.

Llais

Llais is an independent statutory body, set up by the Welsh Government on 1 April 2023 to give the people of Wales much more say in the planning and delivery of their health and social care services – locally, regionally and nationally.

Llais replaced the seven Community Health Councils who represented the interests of people in the NHS in Wales for almost 50 years.

National Care Forum (NCF)

National Care Forum represents not-for-profit health and social care providers across the UK and is a part of the Five Nations Care Group.

Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI)

NHI is the representative organisation for the private and voluntary nursing home sector in Ireland and a member of the Five Nations Care Group.

Older People’s Commissioner for Wales

The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales is an independent voice and champion for older people across Wales, working to ensure that Wales is a good place to grow older, not just for some but for everyone.

Public Health Wales (PHW)

Public Health Wales works to protect and improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities for the people of Wales.

Royal College of Nursing (RCN)

The Royal College of Nursing is the world’s largest nursing union and professional body with over half a million nurses, midwives, nursing support workers and students working together to advance the profession. RCN are members of the Social Care Workforce Partnership.

Scottish Care

Scottish Care is a membership organisation and the representative body for independent social care services in Scotland. They are a member of the Five Nations Care Group.

Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE)

The Social Care Institute for Excellence is an independent social care charity. SCIE collaborate and innovate in social care to improve people’s lives, adults and children, working with a wide range of partners and people with lived experience.

SCIE does this by providing innovative consultancy, expert training, extensive resources and information and evidence-based insights.

Social Care Wales (SCW)

The vision of Social Care Wales is to make a positive difference to care and support in Wales for children, adults and their families and carers. It is important that children, young people and adults in communities in every part of Wales can rely on high quality social care and childcare to help them live the lives that matter to them.

To turn this vision into reality, SCW provide national leadership and expertise in social care and early years. They lead on regulating and developing the social care workforce, service improvement, data and research to improve care.

TUC Cymru

TUC Cymru believe that every worker has the right to be safe, valued and respected and bring workers together through 48 unions. They are members of the Social Care Workforce Partnership.

UNISON Cymru

UNISON is a union for people working in public services or for private contractors providing public services and essential utilities. UNISON Cymru are members of the Social Care Workforce Partnership.

Welsh Government

Welsh Government is the devolved government for Wales with responsibility for areas including health and social care. Welsh Government makes decisions on matters regarding these areas, for Wales as a whole, develops policies and implements them and proposes Welsh laws (Senedd bills)

Welsh Language Commissioner

The Welsh Language Commissioner’s role was created by the Welsh Language (Wales) Bill 2011.

The Welsh Language Commissioner works to promote and facilitate the use of the Welsh language. By doing so they are contributing to realising a vision of a Wales where people can live their life in Welsh.

Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA)

The Welsh Local Government Association represents the interests of local government and promotes local democracy in Wales. Its primary purposes are to promote better local government, to promote its reputation and to support authorities in the development of policies and priorities which will improve public services and democracy.
