The deadline for nominations for the Wales Care Awards 2012 has now been extended to Monday May 21, 2012 – giving an extra three weeks for you to nominate your unsung care sector heroes!
The awards are an annual event – held in the glamorous surroundings of Cardiff’s City Hall. The 2012 Wales Care Awards will be on October 26. If you know someone who works hard to make life better for older people in need of social care, don’t let them be a shrinking violet – why not nominate them, and bring a group along for the awards night too!
There are 21 awards categories including:
- Excellence in leadership and management
- Nurse of the year
- Excellence in catering
- Excellence in dementia care
- Residential practitioner award

Last year’s event was attended by Health Minister Lesley Griffiths and was hosted by BBC news reader Lucy Owen – and the winners (and runners-up) all had a thoroughly good night.
