The Care Council for Wales is currently recruiting for two new members who have experience of using social care services in Wales.
The role will involve two days per month paid at a rate of £198 per day plus reasonable expenses.
The Care Council for Wales is a Welsh Government sponsored body, set up in 2001, which meets six times a year to make sure social workers and social care workers are registered, that they act properly and have the right training.
The membership reflects a wide range of interests in the field of social care, including service users, carers, those involved in service delivery, professional bodies and those delivering education and training for the social service workforce.
Deputy Minister for Social Services Gwenda Thomas said: “In addition to the views of those working in the social care sector, I want to make sure the voices of people who use social services, who are carers or who have an interest in social services in Wales are heard. It is important service users are involved in all aspects of the social care agenda.
“This goes hand in hand with a central principle of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Bill, that giving people more control over services will result in better and more people-focused care and support.”
