From April 1 there is a new revalidation process that all nurses and midwives will need to go through in order to renew their registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- The NMC is calling on all employers of nurses and midwives to ensure that they are prepared for the new process.
- You can find everything you need to know by visiting our new revalidation website.
NMC Website aimed at employers
You’ll find resources aimed at you, as an employer, such as training presentations that revalidation leads can use to support their colleagues and students to understand the revalidation requirements. These presentations cover CPD, feedback, reflective accounts, reflective discussion and confirmation and are designed to be delivered in a workshop to a maximum of 25 people; facilitator notes accompany each set of materials.
The website also features films, case studies and posters that you can download.
Guidance sheets are updated to reflect any developments, such as the recently updated ICO advice on the electronic storage of personal data, which means nurses and midwives can now choose to store their completed reflective discussion and confirmation forms in either paper or electronic format.
