Just a reminder that if you are working in frontline social care, especially with older or frail people, you should get a flu jab as we are approaching the peak part of the year for flu infections.

CFW continues to raise the issue of NHS workers getting free flu jabs while social care providers must pay for staff to have theirs.

Senior policy adviser, Mary Wimbury, said: “We are keeping up the pressure because social care providers have to pay for staff to have the vaccine even if they are working on an NHS contract and because it is part of their health and safety responsibilities which we think is an unfair extra cost for providers.”
