As part of the National Provider Forum, Care Forum Wales has been working in partnership with the Homecare Association and Cymorth Cymru to respond to the Welsh Government’s Draft Budget for 2026–27.
The report calls for increased funding for social care, funding that recognises the Welsh Government’s commitment to the Real Living Wage, as well as the additional costs providers have had to absorb since April 2025 due to rises in Employers’ National Insurance contributions. Social care providers play a vital role in supporting people across Wales, contributing to the foundational economy, creating jobs, and sustaining local supply chains. The report highlights the likely impact on social care providers if this funding is not increased.
