Domiciliary / Supported Living Group

The launch of the first in a series of events for Domiciliary Care Providers will take place in All Nations Centre, Cardiff on Friday 26th March 2010.  The event will commence at 10.00 am and end at 3.00 pm.  The event is aimed at providers who offer a high quality service for vulnerable people in Wales and will inform providers on the importance of becoming professionally engaged in all matters affecting the planning, commissioning and regulation of these       highly specialised social care services in Wales.  The Welsh Assembly Governments (WAG) ‘Strategy for Social Services in Wales over the next decade – Fulfilled Lives, Supportive Communities’, published in February 2007 points to the benefits of the engagement agenda while at the same time providing a model for effective representation.

KEY BENEFITS OF EVENT

To provide providers and managers with a platform to have open and regular dialogue, discussion and consultation with the Welsh Assembly Government.

For the domiciliary care sector to have greater involvement in shaping the design of services in Wales for the future.

To gain an understanding from key people within the Welsh Assembly Government of the objectives of the event and to establish the basis for ongoing discussions.

This is a unique and valuable opportunity for a positive image of our sector to be represented at this event.
