Wales Care Awards 2014: List of winners announced

The winners of the 2014 Wales Care Awards were announced at a packed-out ceremony at Cardiff's City Hall on Friday, October 24, 2014.

There were 18 awards categories plus three final awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Dignity in Care Award and the Spirit of Care Awards.

Promoting Fulfilled Lives Award

Winner = Matthew Palamarczuk, Pendine Park Care Organisation

Supported Living or Small Group Community Living Care Practitioner Award

Joint Winners = Martin Reynolds and Christopher Isles of Tredomen House, Hengoed

Peter Clarke Award for Promoting Excellence in Services for Children and Young People

Winner = Mark Adams, Branas Isaf, Corwen

Leadership and Management in Residential Care Services Award

Winner = Gwyneth Virgo, Thomas Gabrielle EMI Residential Care Home

Leadership and Management in Supported Living or Small Group and Community Living Award

Winner = Nicola Bolton, Integra Community Living Options, Llanelli

Commitment to Training and Workforce Development Award

Winner = Catherine Rowell, Coleg Cambria, Flintshire

Exceptional Newcomer Award

Winner = Julie James, Cilymaenllwyd Care Home, Llanelli

Nurse of the Year Award

Winner = Elizabeth Richards-Calnon, Millheath Nursing Home, Newport

Outstanding Service Award

Winner = Amanda Gladstone, Gwynedd Council Shared Lives / Adult Placement Scheme

Excellence in Dementia Care for Care Practitioners Award

Excellence in Learning Disability and Mental Health Services Award

Innovation and Care for Children and Young People Award

Excellence in Catering Award
